St. Matthew Lutheran School

God has given a wonderful gift and a tremendous responsibility to you—a child to bring up “in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4)

The primary responsibility for your child’s education rests squarely on your shoulders, and you cannot delegate that responsibility to anyone else. However, you can seek assistance in this critical task, and St. Matthew Lutheran is happy that you are turning to us to help you teach your child about God’s creation and his or her place in His creation.

To offer an effective Christian education, we partner a quality educational staff with actively supportive parents to achieve our common goal of seeing your child grow “in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man,” just as young Jesus did (Luke 2:52). Like our public schools, St. Matthew will teach your child about this world and the people in it, with classes in reading and writing, mathematics, social studies, the natural sciences, and technology. Our curriculum nurtures physical, emotional, social, and spiritual development. Unlike public schools, we will share this information firmly grounded in the understanding that God made us and everything around us. Also, we will share the truth of the Gospel as witnessed by the Holy Bible. We believe that the canonical books of the Old Testament and New Testament are the inspired Word of God and the only infallible rule of faith and practice. We accept the teachings of Martin Luther’s large and small catechisms and the documents in the Book of Concord as a true exposition of the Word of God and a correct exhibition of the doctrine of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. That is why we insist the Gospel message permeates all aspects of the educational ministry of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and School.

St. Matthew Lutheran School has been educating children for over 70 years and continues to reach out, educate, and nurture these children and their families in Christian principles.
